Cinderella

The "Evil"Stepmother is at it again
 Poor Cinderella . . . . .
. . . having to scrub floors instead of attending the ball
at least she will sing while she works
London wanted to help me clean
I walked into the living room and "POOF" there was Cinderella scrubbing my floor
just chatting to herself and singing little song

Who says fairy tales aren't true?

Surprises

One day last week when I got home from work and checked the mail
the was a package addressed to "Jenny Thomas"
I knew right away it was from someone who has known me a long time
I was very curious who it was - it was from my cousin Susie, who happens to live in Maryland

What a fun surprise I found inside the box
She does a lot of crocheting (very very good at it)
She said that when she saw this pattern for this lamb, she knew she had to make it for the baby
Isn't he just the cutest little guy - so adorable, soft
and you can't but just hug the guy and smile!
The baby is going to LOVE it
He reminds us of "Shaun the Sheep" from the Disney channel

Being the wonderful thoughtful cousin
she did not want to leave London out
So she crochet these dolls for her!
They are also adorable
I asked London if she liked them
She said she loved the girl but not the boy
when I asked why, she replied that she likes only girls and not boys
too funny!
 I love all their detail

What a fun surprise in the mail to receive
I am glad that my girls will have these dolls to love and cherish
Thank you Susie so much for taking the time to make these and to think of my girls!
We will appreciate them very much!

Then a couple days later I received ANOTHER package on the porch
from my Aunt Jeanne (Susie's mother)
She had crochet a beautiful yellow baby blanket
and a shawl for me (and one London) to use
to cuddle with my baby during those cool evenings ahead
Thank you also so much for these gifts
They will be put to good use in the long nights ahead!
(sorry I haven't taken a picture of them yet)

Future Artists

Monet, Matisse, Van Gogh, Picasso, Jackson Pollock
These are a few the artists that London has been studying at daycare this past year
Not only have they learned about the paintings but also about the artists themselves
I've heard many interesting stories about the artists

As a fun raiser for the daycare
they had an art show on Saturday morning featuring all their art work
for a special price you could purchase their art work
and have a replica of these famous paintings for your home
This canvas painting was done by London's class
It will be featured at Health Ministries in their new lobby

You can read about it in the local newspaper Newton Kansan

Just to think - I have a Van Gogh in my office at work!
The kids all did such a great job - London was so excited about the art show

Happy Mother's Day

Thanks to this precious little one
I have been able to experience the Joy of being a Mother
and to think that God has now blessed us with another one!

So far Mother's Day weekend has
been fun/relaxing/and had some time to myself on Saturday

No sure what all today holds, but I know we will have a good time
London is bursting with excitement about my presents
so far she has kept it a secret

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mother who has taught me so much
It is funny how often I think back about what she has done in my life
and how I use that now as a mother - what a good loving example
of a mother she was and still is
I love you mom

I also want to thank my two wonderful mother-in-laws
Thanks for being there for us and that I am able to have a couple mother's in Kansas

Happy Mother's Day to all!

Happy May Day

It's Sunday afternoon
we are just laying around the house, watching something on TV
half asleep or at least trying to be
then we hear a loud
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK on the door
London jumps up and wants to know who is at the door
she finds no one - but a basket
because
It's May Day!
We told her the basket of flowers were for her
"for me?" she said with a grin on her face
There was also some yummy candy

We explained to her about May Day
"We'll do this next time"
Yes, next year we can leave baskets of flowers and ring door bells

Thank you to our "secret" May Day person
