Good Neighbor

Amy don't hate me for posting these
They are just too cute and London had so much FUN

My neighbor, Amy texted me and said she was going to crash our Banzai Falls slide
It was after all over 100 again today
I didn't take her seriously, next thing I knew - there she was going down with London
They played and played together - sliding, dumping water etc

I wish it had been me going down,
but I don't think that would of been a good idea just having had a baby and all
Amy d . . . . always the favorite in the neighborhood

New Addition

Kennedy Hope Thomas
July 15, 2011
3lbs 13 oz - 17 inches

Do you think I will have trouble remembering Kennedy's birthdate?
It went from August 10 to the 3rd
onto July 20th and she was born on the 15th (totally not planned)

Things happened fairly quickly
just a quick note to those who don't know
I had dealt with an increase in my blood pressure the last 3 weeks of the pregnancy
After a sonogram on Thursday (7/14) we found the placenta fluid was dangerously low
(which is very dangerous for the baby) this is in result to my higher BP
so, my doctor admitted me to the hospital to monitor the baby and scheduled to take her the next day

Here are some of the 131 pictures I have taken of Kennedy this last week
Russ holding after just a few minutes old
They now keep the baby in the room with the mother after the c-section
Russ held her next to me and I got to see and be with her until they were finished with me
We all three went back to our room together for recovery and were alone for 30 minutes
Thanks to Dr Hartvickson for helping get this policy changed!
Kassade and Keyton came up the first night to see her
Does this little girl look proud to be a big sister?
Russ wanted one child to be born with dark hair

Kennedy came home last night
She is doing very well and almost back up to her birth weight
She is perfect is every way

Thank you to all those who helped out with London at last minute notice
She had such a great time doing some new things and it made her feel special and not left out
We greatly appreciate all the love and support from friends and family

A special thank you to my wonderful - loving husband
I could not of done this without your support

Bike

Missy Moo got this bike for Christmas
We've had a hard time getting her to try and ride it this spring
but the last couple days she has been wanting to ride it
she finally has the hang of it and constantly asks to go outside and ride

Today it is 105 outside and she is riding her bike
Ready - Get Set - Go!
She is even maneuvering our terrible uneven sidewalks
Daddy's motto  "if you fall off - you get right back on"
Turning corners is getting better

I am so excited for her learning to ride
She said she wants to show everyone when they come over
Hummm . . . Another step to becoming a big girl

***side note*** later this evening she went around the block 2 times!!
She said she went so fast that daddy had to run to keep up with her

Baby Sewing

I have been doing some sewing for the baby
I bought this cradle at the Hesston Barn Sale for $20.00 - what a steal!!
It only had primer on it, so I put a fresh coat of paint on it one afternoon
(some of you may ask what Russ was doing - see him laying on the porch swing)
I had seen this fabric at our local fabric store (Charlotte's)
and fell in love with it, but would could I use it for?
Once I got the cradle, I knew this fabric would be perfect
This blanket I made for the baby is made out of leftovers
from a dress I made for London last fall
This is one of my favorite Amy Butler prints
The only part I had to buy was the boarder and backing
I asked London if she thought the baby would like it
She promptly told me no but that she liked it
Made some burp rags out of scraps
a few of these were also bought at the Hesston Barn Sale
Receiving blankets
I did not make these - a friend at work made these for me
She asked one day what she could do to help get things ready
I told her I had some material for blankets and it would be great if she could put them together
Thanks Kathy
I haven't left London out
I made this cute little skirt/short or skort
Not sure what is really is, but she loves it
Nice and full but yet has pants in it
I also made London a dress and top with shorts
I don't have pictures of them
I also made her "baby" a blanket and burp rags
She wanted me to make her "baby" somethings
She will get these after "our" baby is born

I still have several projects I would like to finish
We will see what all gets done

Longest wait ever for fireworks

We decided to go to the fireworks in Wichita on Saturday night
While waiting for some friends
London found this tiny, tiny little toad
It was hard to get a clear picture because he kept jumping out of her hands
So Russ put him on his phone
See how small the guy is?
After putting him back we posed for a picture
They have 3 ponds in this area
Adam and Mia showed up and off to the fireworks
A church was giving out free glow sticks
We waited . . . .
and waited . . . .
and waited . . . .
trying to entertain ourselves while waiting . . . .
still waiting and hour later . . . . . people were starting to leave
We had to wait until the ball game was over
CRAZY
I hope next year they think I through a little better
it was 1100 PM when they started
London did enjoy them
She just didn't like the loud ones
