On Tuesday Russ went to his mother's house in Garnett to celebrate Christmas with her. He took Kassade and Keyton and met up with his brother, Mike and his family.
This year us kids went together to get a gift for Sherrie. We got her a flat screen computer monitor. I think she was very surprised from what Russ had said.
Thank you Sherrie for your gifts to London and I. I am sorry that we could not make it this year. It sounded like everyone had a great time.

Amy J tagged me on December 13th - I almost forgot but here it goes . . . .
His full name? Charles Russell Thomas - my brother once told me not to married a guy with 3 first names because serial killers have a high tendency to have 3 first names.
How long married? Five years in September - we actually got married on the 13th - has been a very lucky number for us.
How long we dated? 14 months officially - but the first 2 months we dated we did not tell anyone for many different reasons (our close friends all know why - they are called ex-spouses). Those first 2 months were really really fun sneaking around and enjoying no complications in life.
How old is he? 39 - He will turn the big 40 in April - I am 8 months older.
Smart? Depends on what were are talking about. He does know a lot of trivia that some day may be useful.
Laundry? He does it maybe 1% of the time. He will bring down his laundry and take it up again when finished (sometimes it may sit on the table for a week) that should count for something.
Paying Bills? He does - I am not very good about getting them paid on time.
Who sleeps on the right side? I do, because the left side is closest to the door. I have been told that the husband is supposed to sleep on the side closest to the door in case some one breaks into the house - he can protect you better.
Mows the lawn? - What? we have a mower?
First to admit being wrong? We are both pretty good about this.
Who kissed first? Oh Russ definitely kissed me first. But I will share a secret that he will probably kill me for telling - He actually asked me if he could kiss me! A true gentleman.
Who wears the pants? My man wears the pants - head of the household but we do have a 50/50 relationship dealing with issues and decisions. He is the leader and guides our family.

Now, I am just getting started at 6 PM - this is part of the laundry to do. I never thought I would be happy to do laundry.
On Saturday we got together with Russ' sister and brother and their families for Christmas. Here is a picture of the nieces and nephews. I took about 10 pictures and this is the best one - it seemed in every picture someone was doing something silly.

This is Boss - it took a while but London finally warmed up to him. She got very brave and was playing with his tail.
Rock Band with the Wii - Little Cody and Bobby got this for Christmas. We were at their house till 11:30 or so playing - the big boys were playing. Russ - drums, John - guitar, and Mike was singing. Talk about being Wii hogs. Kassade and I just wanted some sleep.
Thanks Mike and Becca for opening your house to us and letting us stay so late and maybe someday little Cody we can live together.
The morning started out with London throwing up in her bed, cleaned her up and took her in our bedroom and as she was laying on me - yes you guessed it - she threw up on me - lovely, just lovely how I wanted to start the day at 6:45 AM! So I cleaned myself up this time. London then decided that she did not want to sleep and decided to play. She wasn't running a fever etc etc. . then up it came again on the carpet in several spots. I had to enlist Russ to help (he was sleeping downstairs with Konley). Finally got her taken care of - might as well get up and shower.
Then finally it was time to open presents. Wait. . . . where is the teenage girl in the family. . . oh yes she is still sleeping. Keyton and London volunteered to get her up - MISTAKE - I heard a door slamming and Keyton running downstairs with London jumping on the couch stating "if she asks, I never left the couch with London." Several minutes later she finally made her presence with the rest of the family. Okay, now we are FINALLY ready to go.
Konley received several arts projects that he and Russ could do. His big gift was a digital camera.
Keyton was the 'easy" child this year. He is into paintball with his friends. If you look closely at the the box in the corner is does say "2,000 paintballs". Between both parents he is now ready and supplied with accessories to play paintball.
What does all teenage girls want? CLOTHES
London working hard to unwrap gifts. She acted like the wrapping paper was her gift. She was more interested in that then anything else.

I decided that December 26th was the day for "melt downs" at our house. After opening gifts I needed to do laundry from London, her bed sheets and ours and plus the clothing. I go to check the washer and it isn't done yet - wait there is something wrong - really wrong - not off balanced or any of the normal easy to fix items. The water won't drain out of it. I am telling (not asking) Russ to go fix it - take care of it - get the book out.
Blessed Christmas to all! This morning London allowed us to sleep in a little bit. We then went off to Russ' dad and Kathy's house for Christmas Morning brunch. It was very yummy and quite the spread - eggs any way you want them, sausage, bacon, biscuits, sausage gravy, fruit, juices, and coffee cake. It was good to see family this morning - they had a house full. I should of taken a picture of it all.
Russ, London and I opened our gifts each other. London is finally getting the hang of it.
This year we decided to pick the kids up later in the evening - giving them a little extra time with their mother and family.
Stockings are still very important to our family - it doesn't matter what age you are, you still get one. Since we picked the kids up later in evening today, we decided to open stockings tonight and gifts tomorrow. London was so exhausted from the day and didn't make it for the opening of the stockings. We had her open her stocking the next morning.
Christmas Eve is always such a special time. This year Russ, London and I spent it alone which was nice, taking things easy and not in a hurry. Russ and I both got off work early. We went to our church's Christmas Eve/Communion Service. Singing old favorite Christmas Hymns, special message and communion together.
London believes she is a package and belongs under the tree. What a special little package she is to our family. I decided last night that she needed a Christmas and outfit and after work and amongst everything else I was finishing up before Christmas I made her this little outfit. Hopefully I will be able to get some better pictures of her in it later. She just wouldn't sit still for me this afternoon.
Russ and I always eat at home on Christmas Eve, making a special dinner and then visiting on the couch while listening to Christmas music and enjoying the decorated house. hmmmmmmm I wonder if it is time for Santa to come???
