Thanksgiving 2011

This year we went to Garnett for Thanksgiving
Russ' Aunt Barb and Uncle Jay had it at their house
this was the first time in many years that the entire family was there
London playing in the leaves with some cousins
my black friday this year consisted of going to 2 antique stores
loved it - found some great items
oh . . . and a trip to WalMart to get Sherrie a new Christmas tree
we then decorated her house for Christmas
Thursday night Becca and the boys stayed at Sherrie's house
Cody was sleep walking - he got up - went outside the front door
and ended here - laying his head on the toilet - too funny
all the kids were sacked out from the day
I make a Turkey shirt for London each Thanksgiving
this year she had a special request  "Princess Turkey"
awfully cute!

Give Thanks Walk

HOPE, it begins with a single step.  We will walk for those that can’t—the patients of St. Jude.  We will make a difference in the lives of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Russ, London, Kennedy and I will participate in the St. Jude "Give Thanks" walk this Saturday, November 19 in Wichita. As a lot of you know, his son Konley was a patient at St. Jude for 9 years and in January of 09 he lost his battle with cancer.

We promised Konley that he would do all we could for St. Jude to help cure cancer. The last 2 years Russ has ran in the St Jude half-marathon and has talked to local colleges and others about the importance of supporting St. Jude. Our fundraising efforts will directly support the work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to find cures and save the lives of children fighting cancer and other deadly diseases.
You can be part of this of this experience by supporting financially or by prayer.  Please join with us and be part of this wonderful mission for saving children.

4 Months

I look at her and think . . .
"4 months already"
time just keeps slipping by
 normally she is all smiles
but I couldn't get one out of her today
maybe it was the camera - as soon as I set it down she would give me a hugh smile
your shirt is constantly wet from you blowing bubbles
your hands are full of slobber from being in your mouth
your father thinks you will be a thumb sucker because of this
I'm not so sure I agree with this analogy
you have rolled from tummy to back (pure accident)
you talk - a lot - had to take you out of church due to the constant jabber
your sister can make you laugh by giving you raspberries on your tummy
I love your smiles - you give them out so freely
nickname - "little Ms Smiley" full of sunshine

you continue to be a blessing to our family
A "true gift" from God

Too Cute

These bunny slippers were a gift for Kennedy
my friend said she had gotten something practical (diapers) and non-practical (fuzzy bunny slippers)
I just love them
I am so glad she felt the "need" to buy these for Kennedy
If I would of saw them - I probably would of bought them
I am glad they fit and we will greatly enjoy them this winter
my little girl will have the best dressed feet in the neighborhood

London's Preschool did a program today for Veteran's Day.  They sang for the grandmas and grandpas at the nursing home.

They were supposed to wear red, white and blue.  London reciting "Pledge of Allegiance".

Really?

do you really need all that junk in your bed to sleep at night?
every single night I think the same thing
no wonder I couldn't find you when you fell between the wall and bed
does anyone else have a child who sleeps with this much junk in their bed?
you would be amazed at what is all in this bed
books, dolls, crayons, paper, sippy cups, flashlight, stuff animals, diaper bag,
clothes, hangers, glow sticks, pillows, play food from her kitchen, and more
we can't forget the blankets - I counted 5 tonight

Fall Fun

We went to Papa's Pumpkin Patch
it isn't  fancy - just simple and fun for small kids
we met up with some friends from church
"red neck" slide - London showed me all the ways she could go down
playground area with barrel swings, tire swings, tire climbing towers etc
you can also shoot pumpkins, launch pumpkins, play in a trough tank full of corn
fuzzy picture - but it was too cute of Canon
do you remember doing this with your best friend?
I do
they are BFF and wanted their picture taken
Addisyn (on the left) lost of her first tooth the other week when we were over
her brother, Canon knocked it out with his head
and it was stuck in a piece of meat she was eating - it was too funny
proof I was there

First Hair Cut

London had her first hair cut this week
4 yrs old - is that a record for a first hair cut?
with it be curly she just hasn't need one until now
time to trim the ends and shape it up
We are so glad that our neighbor Amy agreed to do it
(London just loves going over to see Amy, so she was very comfortable with her)
she sat so perfectly still
(wish she would do this when I put pony tails in)
I was told by several friends that once they cut their child's curls
for the first time they did not come back
I was a little concerned about this
no need to worry - curly curls are still there
the curls are soft and shiny again

Thanks Amy for making her first hair cut experience special
