Our Home

People have been asking to see photos of our new home in Ohio.

Even though I feel we are "settled in" there are still many things to do. I am still looking for the perfect items to finish the decorating.  Russ would prefer to have it finished now but I am looking for those things that "speak" to me.  I want to find just the right item to complete certain spaces.  Russ and I have had to compromise because our styles are little different, but I think we are making it work.

This is the front of the house which was taken this summer.  I will do outdoor pictures at a later date.  There are some landscaping things we will be changing this spring/summer. But this gives you a little idea.  We have about 2 acres.
This is our bedroom.  One of my favorite spots.  I love all the windows and the view out to our backyard is gorgeous. Our bedroom faces West, so we get beautiful sunsets. We left the paint color the only thing I would like to change someday would be the curtains.  Not sure what I would do.  The bed was my Christmas present from Russ.
Looking into our bathroom.  They designed this very well and I have learned to coexist with Russ in this bathroom.  We also have a walk-in closet.
Looking down the hallway from our bedroom/laundry room area.
We decided to leave all the colors the same upstairs since we liked them.
This is our dinning room.
 Living room
 The foyer

My sewing room.  This will be repainted at some point.
 Upstairs/Guest bathroom
My kitchen.  Probably my favorite place to be in this sitting area.  We have 3 fireplaces.  Russ put up my shelves, now it's time to decide what pictures I am going to put up.  I have a few I've decided on.
 Laundry/Office/Mud room
 Den/TV room
The family room in the basement.  We painted it and changed the floor.
We have a full kitchen downstairs.  This was meant to be an apartment at one time. The person who built it planned to have possibly have parents live in it if needed.  London and Kennedy are the first children to live in this house.
 Russ' bar area
London's room - well I thought it would be done by now.   She has a border in her room - the border from hell I call it.   We think that someone put a border straight to the sheet rock without putting sizing or something.  Then they painted over it and put another border on top.   When I try to take it off - it is going down to the sheet rock - not sure what we are going to do yet.  Her room will be 2 shades of turquoise  to match her bed.  We have a few other things planned. Below her windows we are going to make seating with storage underneath.  She's got an awesome room with those windows looking out into the yard.
This is looking from London's bedroom into her closet which goes through to the bathroom  She has 2 hanging areas and some open and closed shelving in there.
This is the girl's bathroom.  Lots of room.  They have a shower. The only tub is in our bathroom.
Kennedy's room is painted.  I am working on a quilt for her bed and then I will make curtains.  We have a few things to hang up on her walls and it will be complete.  She also has a good size closet.
That is pretty much it other than the storage room and garage.  We really love this home.  I love having more space and not feeling like we are always "on top" of each other.  And the windows  - we get so much sunshine throughout the house.  Even on gray days it feels good.

Daily I walk through our home and feel so blessed. I am thankful for what we have and look forward to giving back.   We also look forward to entertaining more this next year.

Snow Hiking

Today we decided to go on a little hike especially since we had a high of 35 today.  We went out to Johnsons Woods (just up the road from a us).  It was a beautiful sunny day and the girls had fun running around, throwing lots of snowballs, rolling in the snow and other silly stuff.  We hadn't been here since late summer and it was fun to see what it looks like in the winter.
She is up to no good!!!
the snow on this log was about 12 inches deep
only my London would be doing cartwheels in the snow
Even though it's been a cold winter (especially these last 2 months), we've enjoyed the snow and the winter beauty.  I can't remember the last time I've seen so much snow in one winter season.  It seems that it snows at least 2-3 days a week or least that is what the forecast has listed. Our snowman lasted over 6 weeks!!!  I am glad the girls enjoy playing outside in the snow but we are ready for warmer weather.
