Keith Urban

. . . need I saw more? Russ and I went to see Keith on Friday night. Once again he put on a fantastic concert. It was a lot of fun and great music. This was no country concert - because he jams with his guitar and it feels more rock and roll.

We had great seats about 9 rows up from the floor and just at front of the stage. The stage was simple but really cool with 5 huge screens and lights. I have pictures of them below. Hope you aren't too bored with all the pictures, but I did take 112 pictures with some video.

He is crazy at times and he really treats the crowd good. He had two ramps on the stage and at one point he walked down into the crowd, to the back of the coliseum and had another small little stage set up. He played several songs back there, so everyone had a good view. The picture above is another time he went out into the crowd and up into the stands away from the front - unfortunately it was the side across from us. He was constantly shaking hands and the band members and him would walk down the ramps into the crowd.

Opening Act

Jason Aldean opened up for Keith Urban friday night. Here are a few pictures and a short video. I didn't know much about him except for one song he sang. He was pretty good.

Kidron, Ohio

Last week we went back to my hometown, Kidron - OH to visit family. My brothers also were able to be there from Washington DC and San Fransisco. Just a few pictures of Kidron. It is a Swiss Mennonite community in the heart of Amish country. Our town is about 800-1,000 people. For such a small community we have several larger businesses such as Lehman's Hardware, Kidron Body, live animal auction weekly, lumber yard, furniture stores, quilt shop, and a grocery store.

This is normal scene around town. On this day there was an auction selling handmade quilts, furniture, and baked goods to help the Amish medical fund. They don't have insurance and they try to raise money to help children that are handicapped and need medical assistance. We saw some beautiful quilts.

This front part is the original of Lehman's Hardware. My uncle bought the hardware and then my father went into a partnershipwith him. Over the years they have catered to the Amish with nonelectric items and they also have a nonelectric catalog. http://lehmans.com/ Growing up I got to participate in helping out in many areas from putting labels on catalogs, cleaning the store and also working in the office with my Aunt Pearl.

We have a volunteer fire department which my dad was part of for 30 years or more. I have some fun memories playing down there. Notice there is a barber shop in the front part.

This is my parents home. They built this duplex about three years ago. We had lived on the "edge" of town. They built the house and moved in when I was a year old. It had been the only house I had ever lived in. It was hard to sell it but they really enjoy a smaller area. Fortunately, my neighborhood friend, Julie and her husband bought their house.

Monkey

I know we refer to London a lot as "monkey" but really - she ALWAYS has to come to the bathroom with me and today this is what I caught her doing - hanging on the sink and climbing up the pedestal with her feet.
