Valentines

I enjoy making Valentines

this year I picked out several ideas to show London 

and she choose this to make for her friends

I cut them out and punched the holes

she was then able to lace them up and stuff them

she choose one of her favorite candies - mini m&m's

A Great Day

I had a great Valentine's Day

To me there is just something special about cutting out a paper heart 

& writing a love note on it to someone special

reminding them how much they are loved and appreciated

I am loved - I feel this everyday from my family

usually in the smallest tokens of affection

and I hope I show them each day how much they are loved

London's shirt I made - she picked out the material from my scraps

(a way I show my love for her - sewing)

Sister Love

I am so glad they will have each other in life

 London is a fantastic big sister

I love seeing her in this role of her life

People ask me all the time - What big plans do you and Russ have for V-day?

We keep it pretty simple

in 10 years we have NEVER gone out

we enjoy staying at home - cooking together - just being together

Gifts - have been everything from a hand written love note to Keith Urban tickets

If you have never cooked with your husband/wife

I highly suggested you do

put on some Frank Sinatra and grab a good bottle of wine

letting the cooking begin - it is a lot of fun

Our menu this year included

Shrimp

Crab legs

Twice baked potatoes/French Fries (for London)

Bread and Salad

Strawberries dipped in warm melted chocolate for dessert

(London enjoyed dessert  - you could see the evidence on her chocolate covered mouth)

Our gift to Russ

(my glass was last year's Valentines gift)

Saturday we took a road trip to Garnett

for a 1st Birthday Party for this little cutie

have you noticed the theme: owls

Koralyn's cake was so cute - her aunt made it

her profession isn't cake decorating - she is a nurse!

maybe next year I could try to be more adventurous for London or Kennedy's cake

the room was decorated with balloons, pictures, owls stuffed with party favors 

and cake pops on the table made bright fun center pieces (not to mention tasted great!

 it was a very busy party

playing basketball, eating, opening all those gifts

 I must say I am proud of my daughter

look at her basketball form - for a 4 yr old!

we've been trying to teach her how to shoot it correctly

(notice the tongue sticking out)

Just a fact about Velvick family

we figured up in the family there is 11 kids that are 5 and under
CRAZY

Hide -n- Seek

After the first of the year, London started attending "Hide -n- Seek"

"Hide" God's Word in your heart  -n- "Seek" His will for your life

it's our Wednesday night program for kids

I really like their format and how the incorporate the parents into it

London loves going 

constantly asks "is it Wednesday night church tonight?"

by Wednesday afternoon she is just bouncing of the walls

Last week she said her first memory verse

Russ said he was so proud of her

she marched right up to Brittany

and said her verse even with the sign language

she wasn't scared or even nervous

I just wanted to share this with everyone

London has been learning to write her name

look at how great she is doing!!

I can't believe each week how much she improves

and she is even getting her letters correct with upper and lower case

 . . . next thing I know she will be wanting the car keys :)
