rain . . rain . . glad you stayed

It was so strange today

I got home from work and it suddenly got dark outside

didn't think they were calling for rain

I was sewing and heard a noise - Russ told me it was just the trains

and then it started

RAIN . . . and it continued to rain hard . . . pouring

guess who had to go outside and play

I love how London finds the greatest joy in such simple things

so very thankful for this shower that lasted more than 10 minutes

everything felt so refreshed and clean afterwards

MY Quilt

It is finished and all is well with my soul

I started this quilt 2 years ago

I have had many interruptions during those 724 days

putting it away to work on other projects for other people

I am so please with how it turned out

I finished it around midnight - hand sewing binding is not one my favorite things

I was so excited to have it done - that I slept with it

Yes, I am a dork - but I don't really care

It was warm a cozy

nothing better than sleeping under a quilt

Just a few pictures

I wanted to take it outside for a little photo shoot

but was snowing this day - funny because it snowing right now!

It doesn't snow in Kansas in March only in Ohio

I love all the colors, the brightness, cheerfulness of it

just what I was wanting in a quilt

I used Amy Butler's "Soul Blossom" line

this is from a stack of fat quarters

Yeek - Monster

We've got this giggly, orange headed monster in our home

not sure where it came from but it appeared one day

after I had gone out for the evening with some girlfriends

watch out for those fingers because they are gonna get you

Oh . . never mind it is just Kennedy

a new favorite game of hers

Snow Day 2

The girls got to stay home with Russ

I went to work

The sun was out and shinning and big blue sky above

It was a beautiful day

Took Kennedy out today - She wasn't too sure about it all

Our matching hats my mom made

She likes making snow angels . . . or maybe just likes falling in the fluffy snow

Snow Day

Woke up today to 9 inches of snow and more on it's way (I think we had 12 total)

I called my supervisor to let her know I would be late

She told me to stay home and enjoy the day and she was closing our office

Gotta LOVE her!

This first picture is at 7:15 AM - London wanted to "help" Russ clean the snow off

It just kept snowing off and on all day

Looks like a cake sitting on the bird bath

You can't loose Molly in the orange coat!

London spent quite a bit of time outside

She played with her neighbor and some friends

Russ took them all sledding earlier in the day

The cold doesn't seem to affect them one bit

I think this picture was capturing the 4th time that day that we put on snow clothes

It was so pretty - I forgot how nice it is to have snow - lots of it

It was like being in Ohio again

This one stayed in her PJ's all day

she enjoyed watching Russ and London out the window

Valentine's Day 2013

Valentines Day 2013 

We stay at home - Russ and I have never gone out to eat on Valentines

I enjoy being at home with him, cooking a great meal together, and just spending time together

We don't have to deal with finding a baby sitter, restaurants being loud, busy and crazy

I only took a few photos this year

No pictures of our beautiful special meal, decorated table, and the girls cute outfits

Okay I will explain this picture - it is an instagram picture

We were basically done eating and London asked for some plain pasta

Russ started saying  "who's my little piggy?"  That is all the encouragement she needed

This is one of her favorite scenes from "A Christmas Story"
