First Day of School

Today was London's first day of Kindergarten
A friend asked me this morning -
"Was it hard to drop her off? Or just unbelief that she is old enough for school!?!
I told her - "Both - my little girl is disappearing quickly" - tears for me not her
I am so excited for what is in store for her this school year
She is ready . . .  and so am I (I think/hope)
Summer flew by and we had so much fun
I am so glad she got to spend this time with Russ
"life is a balance of holding on and letting go"
This was morning was exciting and hard
You worry as a mama - but that is natural
I still check at night before I go to bed that the girls are breathing - laying my hand on their back
She knows only 2 girls in her class
and we don't even know if they will be in the same Kindergarten class yet
She will be fine, find new friends and enjoy all that is offered to her

Another positive stepin our life

Sprinkler Park

We've got a sprinkler park just a couple miles from our house
It's great that you can just throw on swimsuits and go
a good way to cool off quickly in Kansas

These are pictures from Kennedy's first trip
she wasn't too sure about it at first
Watching her sister - still has that towel for security
she got pretty brave until some water shot up her nose
These are taken later in the summer
still hanging onto a towel at times - too funny
 summer fun
this is just what a mama wants to see - right?
I guess we should of brought some water - ha ha
they are so lucky to have this sprinkler park
just think  . . . all we had was a sprinkler for the grass to run through

rain . . rain . . glad you stayed

It was so strange today
I got home from work and it suddenly got dark outside
didn't think they were calling for rain
I was sewing and heard a noise - Russ told me it was just the trains
and then it started
RAIN . . . and it continued to rain hard . . . pouring
guess who had to go outside and play
I love how London finds the greatest joy in such simple things
so very thankful for this shower that lasted more than 10 minutes
everything felt so refreshed and clean afterwards

MY Quilt

It is finished and all is well with my soul
I started this quilt 2 years ago
I have had many interruptions during those 724 days
putting it away to work on other projects for other people
I am so please with how it turned out
I finished it around midnight - hand sewing binding is not one my favorite things
I was so excited to have it done - that I slept with it
Yes, I am a dork - but I don't really care
It was warm a cozy
nothing better than sleeping under a quilt
Just a few pictures
I wanted to take it outside for a little photo shoot
but was snowing this day - funny because it snowing right now!
It doesn't snow in Kansas in March only in Ohio
I love all the colors, the brightness, cheerfulness of it
just what I was wanting in a quilt
I used Amy Butler's "Soul Blossom" line
this is from a stack of fat quarters
Finally something for me
Oh Happy Day

Yeek - Monster

We've got this giggly, orange headed monster in our home
not sure where it came from but it appeared one day
after I had gone out for the evening with some girlfriends
watch out for those fingers because they are gonna get you
Oh . . never mind it is just Kennedy
a new favorite game of hers

Snow Day 2

The girls got to stay home with Russ
I went to work
The sun was out and shinning and big blue sky above
It was a beautiful day

Took Kennedy out today - She wasn't too sure about it all
Our matching hats my mom made
London's snow cave
She likes making snow angels . . . or maybe just likes falling in the fluffy snow
