Thunder and Giggles

Sunday it was raining off and on all day and for brief moments we would go out onto the porch. London was wanting to go outside and play so bad. While I was folding laundry, I felt a tugg on my leg and there she was holding her raincoat and saying "out".

Russ took her out and she had so much fun playing on the porch in the rain. She would go to the steps and take one step down and stick her head out in the rain. She wanted to blow bubbles in the rain and every time it thundered she would say "ohhh" and the louder the bigger "ohhhh" it got. I am so glad that she was not afraid.

The sirens went off and we ended up in the basement - we had some very strong straight line winds. There were several trees down in the neighborhood and we lost some shingles off our roof that flew across our jeep and did some lovely paint scratching on the hood and to my windshield.

Russ and London love to wrestle. She just giggles so much when they do this. Look at all her cute little teeth. She is currently cutting in some molars - 3 of them! in return this is causing a constant running nose.

Accomplishment

I have been complaining A LOT to Russ about how unorganized I feel our house is. It is just so hard with old homes - there is NO storage, so things get put here and there and piles seem to creep up on the table and counters. I lost some blank CDs - I knew they were somewhere in the the house. One day I spent over an hour looking for them. Well, I have decided it is time to do something about it and tonight I started with MY closet. I wish I had a before picture, but here it is all finished. I had a bag of trash, one bag of things that go elsewhere in the house, and a bag of clothes to give to Goodwill. I don't see much laying around for the "closet monster" to get into anymore. Oh, I have even laid out my clothes to wear to work tomorrow and I found those blank CDs.

I did finish a dress for London and I'm almost finished with another quilt/blanket. This was made from leftover scraps. I need to put one more border on it and then the backing. I think I will use some chenille from an old blanket that I got at the thrift store. Inside of quilting I will just tie it. I will have to get more pictures of other dresses and shirts I have done for London. I have lots of beautiful fabric just waiting to made into summer clothes for London.

. . . oh, how can I forget my pile of clothes to mend. Most of them are pants for London. Little miss skinny minny - I have to take in the waist for her. This is not my favorite thing to do - much rather be creating something then mending it.

Art Show

On Saturday we attend a very exclusive art show. London's daycare was having an art show/sale. This was a fundraiser for the daycare. I was very impressed with all the art work and how they had it displayed. They had taken several different artist, one of their paintings and had the children do their rendition of it. They also had information about the artist and a picture of the original painting.

We bought 4 original paintings and 1 sculpture. I am sure some day they will be worth millions.

London's version of a Jackson Pollock painting.

London's Monet and Thumbprint Flowers.

Picasso - I like the legs.

Her sculpture.

She has such a wonderful daycare and they have done many creative activities for the entire center. We are so fortune to have it in our community. Thanks to the teachers for all their hard work!

Round Two - Tie 3 to 3

Let me explain game night. We have been wanting to spend more time with Frank/Amy and Adam/Deanne. Russ came up with idea of "Game Night". This would take place every month, we would have dinner together and take turns hosting. To make things are little more exciting we decided to have it "men vs women" and we would keep track of who won each game. At the end of the year whoever has won the most games gets to pick something they want the other sex to do for them (i.e. cooking them a dinner). This was our second month. Last month Russ and I hosted and we played "Apples to Apples". The guys were in the lead 2 to 1.
Friday night we met at Adam and Deanne's house - eating ribs, mashed potatoes, salads and great desserts. Then it was time to get serious and send the kids out to play. It was "game time". We started out with Cranium (girls won) and Family Feud (we also won this one) and finished with Catch Phrase (the guys won this one).

Russ was up to no good in this picture

London wanted to help the girls out by drawing.

Dea doing a clay sculpture - it was a remote control

Frank had to take Russ' hand and draw a picture.

What does this picture look like to you? Answer: Otter

I am acting out Chicken Pox

Adam and Dea got 17 chicks - they are going to attempt to raise chickens for the eggs. We said that we expect fried chicken next time at their house. This is their chicken coop.

Great night guys, at lot of fun and laughs. Frosty the bear - Lazy pigs, Boy - Girl, Girl - Boy, and boy do we wish we could of captured the "look" Frank gave to Amy after a hand off during Catch Phrase.

Discovering Dandelions

Afternoon at the Park

Last Sunday Russ, Kassade and London went to the park. I stayed behind to do some sewing and Keyton was watching a movie. It was bright and sunny out but the wind was chilly.

Amy and Deanne

Girls . .
are you ready. . .
for game night tonight?
Last month was just a warm up and I am glad we "let" the guys win at "Apples to Apples". It is time for the women to take charge of Game Night again.

Campbell

This cute little lamb is named Campbell. Yes, there is a story behind this lamb. Konley had gotten a gift certificate to Build-A-Bear for Christmas from Uncle Mike/Aunt Becca and the boys. He never got a chance to use it, so the other weekend we were missing Konley a little more than usual and decided to take London and have her go build something.

We picked the lamb because it was very soft and something Konley would have picked for London, the Chiefs shirt because Konley love the KC Chiefs, and we named her Campbell - this was Konley's middle name.

I tried to get a picture of London in her Chief's outfit with Campbell but she wasn't cooperating very well. Konley had picked out this outfit for her birthday.

We miss you Konley and wish that we could of shared this moment with you.

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to Garnett to have Easter with Russ' mother this year. Saturday morning he went jogging around the north lake and saw that they were putting out Easter eggs. So, after our usual trip to the antique store and popped in to say hi to Aunt Barb at her shop - we took London to the community Easter Egg Hunt! It was out at the high school football field. London participated with the 2 yrs and younger age.

It was a good thing that she had practice the day before at daycare. Some of those young kids went out in full force. She ended up with 6 eggs. She is now prepared for the great egg hunt at Grandpa and Grandma Thomas' house next year.

Sitting with Grandma Brown and Daddy.

London love animals - these were some pugs for sale.
