3:30 PM Saturday

Thomas Household Saturday Afternoon
PLEASE do not come ring my doorbell
no one asking me to do something
no one asking me to make a decision
peaceful
quiet
loving this HOT afternoon
time to sew with no interruptions
I started this quilt Friday night
it has been fun to put together - quick and easy
I pulled the pattern from Moda Bakeshop and had the charm pack already
I will show you the others I have been working on when they are finished
gotta get back to sewing before they wake up

Good Neighbors

Our neighbors (Amy & Corey) are moving later this summer
their house is sold, so I guess it is official

We got together to celebrate summer and as a  farewell to them
The menu was fabulous
crab legs, grill corn on the cob with feta cheese, fresh fruit and more . .
Amy is holding the crab - funny since she doesn't like seafood
when I went to take a picture of the kids outside
their conversation was about blue cheese - what??
while the adults were inside enjoying the coolness
the kids took no notice that it was 100+ outside
it got pretty crazy out there at times
It really was a great evening together
we will miss having Amy, Corey & kids just down the street
but now I have a reason to go to Abilene - never been there

I think we should do this every Sunday night until they move
Mary, are you up to hosting each week?

What's for Dinner?

This is what we had for dinner tonight
DELICIOUS!
the family highly recommends this recipe
London was helping me cook
as we added the different ingredients to the pork chops
she told me it looked yucky and she wasn't going to eat it
I told that if she couldn't say anything nice about our cooking
then she needed to leave my kitchen (she decided to stay)

Once it was finished she thought it smelled good
she loves pork chops and asked for some grilled pineapple but no rice
I was told that these were the best pork chops ever!
then she decided to try to fried rice

London decided that all the ingredients we added really made it taste good
she even added that she could tell that we put honey in it

Thanks Pioneer Woman  . . . .
for inspiring me to get out of the boring rut
providing an easy tasteful meal my family loved
I can't wait to try some more good recipes

Thank goodness it wasn't another night of sloppy joes, spaghetti, or hamburgers

 Happy Birthday Truman
I don't I ever had a cat this long
my family thinks he will never die & say it is not normal for a cat to live this long
I say we need to go for the world's record

Beaumont

We went to Beaumont, KS the other night
most people say "where?"
you know the town where  small planes fly in and then they
drive down the street to the hotel/restaurant

After a good meal we went and did some exploring
there isn't much to see other than some empty buildings and the old water tower
Kassade and Keyton explored this building - it had a creepy feeling
I took a few pictures of the kids
they turned out okay - I wish I would of taken more
(it was one of those windy Kansas days)
London is missing
thanks to the one who said their might be snakes in the grass
the historic water tower in the background

Golden Fields

the wheat fields are always so pretty in Kansas
the golden fields and big blue skies
a sign that summer is here
I liked the clouds in this picture
my little girl wanted to get out and take her picture in the wheat field
then she sorta "freaked" out thinking there might be snakes
so, I only got the "fake" smile that afternoon
she keeps reminding me that she is a Jayhawk
my Kansas girl
